Piatt County Mental Health CenterThe Basics

Founded in 1970 and averaging around 550 clients per year, the Piatt County Mental Health Center (PCMHC) has been dedicated to improving the quality of life for its clients and the Illinois community. PCMHC offers outpatient services for adults and adolescents struggling with addiction and substance abuse and also facilitates a variety of DUI programs, job placement opportunities and educational programs. PCMHC is nationally accredited by CARF and is staffed with dedicated and compassionate professionals.

Treatment and Staff

Treatment is determined by an initial assessment of the client’s specific needs and history. This helps the staff create an individualized treatment plan which typically combines individual and group therapy. PCMHC is licensed by the Department of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse to provide Level I and Level II addiction counseling services for both adults and adolescents. Treatment plans often also incorporate educational components on the disease of addiction. The primary method of treatment is CBT which is conducted by credentialed staff members including CSACs, CADCs and CASACs.

Sessions vary in length and frequency and the facility is open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm and on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 am to 8 pm. Those with co-occurring disorders are also treated at PCMHC.

Extras

Aftercare is offered in the form of relapse prevention education and access and encouragement to participate in 12-step meetings. PCMHC also provides extensive treatment for mental disorders such as depression, anger management and eating disorders. This treatment is provided by staff members who are licensed in the fields of psychology, counseling and social work. Medical supervision is provided for those clients who require it and case management services are also available.

In Summary

Piatt County Mental Health Center not only strives to help clients attain and maintain sobriety, but it also seeks to destigmatize the disease of addiction. The staff is professional, experienced and completely capable to help each client achieve their desired results. All services are offered on a sliding scale and most insurances are accepted. This helps relieve stress and strain, both emotionally and financially, on clients and their families who need and seek such treatment that PCHMC can provide.
