The Basics
In 2004, Douglas C. Keister, a LMHC, and Evan B. Profanicik, a CADAC, founded Phoenix Associates of Hancock County in Greenfield, Indiana. The faith-based organization is certified as an Addictions Service Provider Outpatient by the State of Indiana and provides outpatient treatment to adult men and women.
Treatment and Staff
Treatment consists of both group and individual counseling using evidence-based practices, such as CBT and Motivational Interviewing (MI), as well as relapse prevention, education and peer sharing. Counselors also use guided relaxation to help clients during the group meetings. Individual sessions are available based on the needs of the client. With client’s content, family therapy is also available.
While the exact length and intensity of treatment is based on counselor assessment, Phoenix Associates offers groups sessions Monday through Friday in the morning, and in the afternoon on Fridays. Groups last for two hours while individual sessions last for 50 minutes.
Although Phoenix Associates is not 12-step oriented, clients are encouraged to attend outside AA and NA meetings while in the program. Clients with a dual diagnosis are offered additional support through individual therapy with a mental health counselor.
The staff at Phoenix Associates of Hancock County consist of CADACs and LMHCs.
Extras
Additional services include Suboxone support and follow up; however,Phoenix Associates not actually prescribe or administer Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT).
