Pecan Haven Outpatient Review
The outpatient program at Pecan Haven Addiction Recovery Center of Monroe, Louisiana, is for men and women who are 18 and older struggling with addiction and behavioral health concerns. Pecan Haven, which also offers residential treatment, has an in-depth outpatient track that incorporates 12-step along with a variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches.
Treatment and Staff
The outpatient side of treatment at Pecan Haven does not necessarily have to immediately follow the residential track that’s on the same campus. This program requires an assessment prior to admission that addresses their recommendations and the individual’s history with drug abuse. Consequently, the client receives a treatment protocol.
These programs zero in on each client’s specific strengths, needs, and personal preferences. Clinicians center treatment around finding balance in the clients’ lives through overall wellness of the mind, body and spirit.
Treatment at Pecan Haven focuses on dual diagnosis clientele and offers several levels of mental health services. The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) runs three nights per week for three hours at a time.
On treatment days clients attend group therapy as a community. These sessions cover topics like relapse prevention, anger management, family issues, and trauma. Accountability is a focal point throughout treatment as clients learn new life and coping skills, improve their communication, and start to rebuild their self esteem through socializing events and activities.
Therapeutic approaches vary, however the staff utilize a number of different treatment modalities such as CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing (MI), trauma informed care models, the Matrix Model, and behavioral modification. There are also spiritual counseling services available, and case management options.
There are also a number of medical services available at Pecan Haven. They include STD testing and education, screenings for certain diseases, and HIV education.
Clinical and medical staff include psychiatrists, nurses, addiction specialists, LPCs, CACs, CADCs, and LCSW.

There are comprehensive family and couple therapy services available.
Finally, there are other specialized treatment tracks are for those dealing with other addictions, including gambling, internet and sex addiction.
