Peaks Recovery Women’s Residential Review
Peaks Recovery is a rehab dedicated to young adults ages 18 to 30 who are dealing with addiction and behavioral health issues. There are gender-specific residential and outpatient programs available, with the main facility providing treatment out of Colorado Springs. Programming incorporates the 12 steps along with a number of evidence-based treatment approaches and educational protocols.
Accommodations and Food
The women’s residential facility is placed on over two acres of land and offers over 9000 square feet of spacious living quarters. The luxurious, multi story home provides a series of amenities including a heated, indoor pool, a movie viewing room, state of the art appliances, waterfall showers and lounge areas. The clients have semi private bedrooms with some en suite bathrooms. There is also workout equipment on site, mounted TVs throughout the space with Wifi and laundry facilities.
All the meals are prepared on site by a professional chef. The meals are put together by a staff nutritionist who makes sure to offer options that are healthy and delicious.
Treatment and Staff
The entirety of the program is designed to last about 90 days. The women’s program is really focused on offering therapy that is conducive to women’s needs. There are at least two group therapy sessions every day, and frequent individual therapy sessions are provided as well. Residents can expect regular visits with the on-site psychiatrist and the staff works to balance the client using holistic approaches, medication and therapy. Fellowship activities happen at least twice a day and daily AA/NA meeting attendance is required.
Therapy includes CBT, DBT, EMDR, process groups, trauma-informed care, expressive art therapy and vocational therapy. Clients work on relapse prevention and a number of life and coping skills. During their time in treatment, the women get assistance with job placement or enrolling in school after their initial phase of treatment is completed.
The staff consists of a medical, clinical and program director whose combined credentials include LPCC, CADC, DO, LAC and SEP. There are also a number of Master’s-level therapists including ones that specialize in yoga and nutrition.
Extras
Clients receive a gym membership that they put to good use three to four times a week. Yoga, acupuncture and equine therapy are available too.
The family program is for three family members over a weekend who come to Peaks Recovery to participate in a series of educational and therapeutic activities.
There is an alumni aftercare program accessible to all Peaks Recovery graduates.

The women’s program through Peaks Recovery provides a structured, daily schedule of treatment and a safe place to begin life without drugs and alcohol. The focus is trauma based and clients pick up several useful skills for life after rehab. It doesn’t hurt that they live in a gorgeous, luxury home and have skilled, professional therapists assisting them throughout the course of their time at the facility.
