The Basics
With two locations in the Los Angeles area, Westlake Village and Malibu, PCI Westlake Centers is an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for men and women with substance abuse issues and co-occurring disorders. The facility welcomes clients seeking treatment for the first time and those who need continued support after completing an inpatient program. Its individualized treatment plans consist of group and individual therapy with holistic options.
Treatment and Staff
The IOP begins with an assessment so that duration and frequency of treatment can be determined. The program consists of group and individual therapy several times a week, offered at the Westlake location on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 10 am and 1 pm and 5 to 8 pm. The Malibu facility operates Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays between 10 am and 1 pm. The number of treatment hours depends on the individual plan but typically lasts for two to three hours at a time, twice a week.
PCI Westlake Centers approach to recovery is based on evidence-based practices and incorporates the 12-step philosophy. Therapeutic modalities like DBT, CBT and Motivational Interviewing (MI) are employed, as well as psychoeducational sessions. Gender-specific and specialized groups are available for trauma, chronic relapse and mood disorders. Psychiatric consultations, dual diagnosis support, medication management and neurofeedback are provided on site.
PCI Westlake Centers staff includes three PsyDs, two PhDs, an MD, a CADC, a certified yoga instructor and fitness trainer. Many of the team members are also in recovery.
Extras
A variety of holistic healing options are available, including yoga, recreational therapy, a mindfulness group, art and drama therapy.
