Pacific Palisades Los Angeles CaliforniaThe Basics

Patty Baret is a certified interventionist and the co-founder of Connections in Recovery, an addiction and mental health treatment consulting company. Baret, her co-founder Lauren Arborio (CADC Level II) and all staff at Connections in Recovery are also openly in recovery for addiction. By combining their professional credentials with personal addiction experience, the Connections in Recovery team offer a unique recovery support system.

Baret’s services cater to those in need of interventions, case management and sober/mental health companions. Originally from Nice, France, Baret brings international experience and relationships with facilities abroad to her work with local clients. With facilities in Los Angeles, New York and Texas, Baret and her colleagues are available to perform a variety of services around the world to those struggling with addiction.

The Background

Baret has over 30 years of personal experience in recovery for addiction. Additionally, she has investigated rehabilitation methods and resources all over the world, lending a unique perspective to her recovery approach.

With a particular focus on advocating for women in recovery, Beret leads groups that focus on gender-specific issues, process addictions, self-empowerment and relapse prevention.

The Approach

Baret is unique in her field in that she has both personal and international experience with addiction through all the stages of recovery and is knowledgeable on a wide variety of gender-specific issues. Baret implements the ARISE model in interventions, an evidence-based practice that incorporates the family to help motivate the client into treatment and to foster behavioral change.

After an initial call from a client, Baret provides numerous services to give the client and their family the easiest transition to recovery possible. She meets with the family and loved ones of the client to develop an individualized plan and to determine an appropriate approach. Families are educated on aspects of the disease of addiction and Baret conducts the procedure in a way respectful of all involved, defusing any rising tension or conflict.

Following the intervention, if treatment is necessary Beret presents a variety of program options, safe transportation, contacts for sober and mental health companions and referrals to any number of hospitals, specialized services or other psychological services. Baret also provides case management and advises on additional recovery options and resources as needed.

Connections in Recovery also offers a unique sober roommate program wherein individuals can post their listing on a website to find a roommate who is also sober.

Additionally, an international program for those who feel they need to seek treatment outside of the US is available. Connections in Recovery facilitates safe travel arrangements as well as an international sober companion if needed. With programs in Thailand, South Africa, Australia, England, Italy, Turkey, Spain, Holland, Mauritius, the Caribbean, Canada, Hong Kong and Switzerland, clients seeking privacy and non-traditional approaches to recovery may find this unique experience an ideal fit.

Post-Intervention and Summary

Through on-going case management, Baret monitors the progress of the client through the treatment process as well as during aftercare. Referrals can also be made for family members seeking supportive services. In the event that the friends and family model of intervention is ineffective, Baret and staff can facilitate medical or legal procedures as required. Patty Baret and her company’s services are a solid option for those seeking interventions that heavily integrate the family or loved ones and particularly well-suited for those wishing to maintain anonymity throughout the process by selecting an international recovery program.
