Pathways Real Life Recovery Sober Living & Wholeness Center in West Jordan, Utah is a sober living facility and optional treatment program for women looking for a safe environment to rebuild their lives. The home offers gender-specific transitional care that encourages independence while the Wholeness Center, its accompanying treatment program, provides evidence-based and trauma-informed care facilitated by Michele Ammerman, who founded the Pathways Real Life Recovery‘s outpatient program in 2007.
Accommodations and Amenities
Pathways Real Life Recovery Sober Living operates two single-story homes in quiet residential neighborhoods. The facilities keep the number of residents to a minimum, with one offering six beds and the other three. Bedrooms and bathrooms are shared and residents are given a rotating schedule of chores, including cooking for the house. The homes feature a living room with TV, a dining room and full kitchen. Residents are responsible for grocery shopping and preparing their own meals.
Rules and Regulations
During the (average) 90-day stay, women are encouraged to reacclimate to their community by obtaining employment or enrolling in school while also attending the Wholeness Center, regular 12-step meetings and additional therapy, if necessary. However, like most sober livings, the program offers a stable environment with some structure but residents have freedom during the day and attending treatment through the Wholeness Center is not required.
Staff consists of LCSWs, LMFTs, LCDCs, MDs and other medical staff and life coaches.
Extras
The Wholeness Center offers on-site outpatient treatment that is individualized and strength-based. It works within the structure of group and individual counseling that uses evidence-based practices, such as CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing (MI), as as well EMDR, relapse prevention and holistic treatment options, like art and music therapy. With a focus on dealing with past traumas and self-sabotaging behavior, clients typically attend one to two group sessions a week and one individual session. For clients with a co-occurring disorders, additional support is available by way of medication management and visits with a staff MD.
Additional services include regular alumni activities, which can include recreation or an outing. Its aftercare program involves extended monitoring for up to three years after clients complete outpatient treatment.
