Pathway to HopePathway to Hope Review

Pathway to Hope is a member of the Delphi Behavioral Health Group, which operates a number of treatment facilities throughout southern Florida. Located in Fort Lauderdale, Pathway to Hope opened in 2012 and provides residential treatment, with plans ranging from 30 to 90 days. Pathway treats up to 45 residents at a time and has a multi-disciplinary treatment team that is equipped to provide dual diagnosis support.

Accommodations and Food

Clients reside in a modern apartment complex with a swimming pool. Residents have roommates and rooms have a modern décor with comfortable domestic touches, giving the apartments an upscale, home-like atmosphere. Common areas come equipped with flat-screen TVs, and residents can visit the facility’s pool or the nearby beach for recreation. Apartments contain full kitchens with microwaves and coffee makers.

Treatment and Staff

Clients in need of detox are referred to Delphi’s affiliated detox facility, Arete. Upon admission to residential treatment, clients have a clinical evaluation with a primary counselor. Residents stay a minimum of 30 days but can extend their stay up to 90. Most clients stay between 30 and 45 days.

After their evaluation, clients receive a treatment plan that includes daily group therapy and psychoeducation and life skills classes. Clients also have individual therapy at least once a week. Therapy is conducted by psychologists and addiction counselors, including CACs and CAPs. Pathway also retains a consulting psychiatrist to provide medication management and additional therapy for clients with co-occurring disorders. Additional staff include LVNs, nurse practitioners and behavioral health technicians.

Therapy uses CBT and Motivational Interviewing (MI) and groups and classes address relapse prevention, creating boundaries and relationship skills, as well as the disease of addiction. Life skills classes include nutritional counseling. Clients also engage in meditation and mindfulness training and are transported to nearby AA/NA meetings each evening.

Extras

Pathway provides clients with case managers to help them located housing and medical services as they near the end of their treatment plans. It also has a robust alumni program that hosts sober social activities throughout Fort Lauderdale.

In Summary

Pathway to Hope has provided residential treatment to the residents of Fort Lauderdale for over five years. With dual diagnosis capabilities and an extensive multi-disciplinary treatment team, clients receive coordinated care that addresses and heals the physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of their addiction.
