Treatment and Staff
The intake process at Parker begins with an initial phone call followed by a meeting with one of the organization’s counselors to help determine the individual’s potential level of care. Individuals then meet with a counselor to chart out a potential treatment plan. Individuals who are unstable are going through withdrawal are referred to outside residential or detox facilities.
Parker’s outpatient program consists of both group and individual therapy. The exact length and intensity of the program is based on the counselor’s assessment of the client’s need. Group meetings are scheduled in the evenings on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The groups last for two hours and usually consist of around 10 clients per session. Parker utilizes a multi-modal approach to address the emotional, physical, cognitive and relational aspects of clients’ lives in therapy sessions. Counselors use a variety of evidence-based treatment techniques including CBT and relapse prevention. Parker also offers groups that focus on anger management and Trauma-Informed Care (TIC). Individual therapy is scheduled accordingly for each person depending on their needs and circumstances. Parker also offers Spanish bilingual therapy options for clients.
Parker also offers individual marriage and family sessions. These meetings entail the client, counselor and clients family members or significant others meeting and discussing dependency and substance abuse education. Clients must consent to these meetings before they are facilitated. The organization also has court-ordered programs including a DUI program.
