Paramount Recovery Services is a sober living facility for adult men in Prescott, Arizona. Sober living professionals, Kevin Brown and Bryan Hullihen, founded Paramount in 2014 and it provides transitional care and additional Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for clients who have completed inpatient treatment.
Accommodations and Amenities
Paramount Recovery Services’ sober living is a residential home with five bedrooms and three bathrooms. With two clients to a bedroom, the home can accommodate up to 11 clients. Residents also share the three bathrooms. The home also features a living room and ample common area with TV, cable, Internet and phone access. Clients are provided free passes to an off-site gym that is a short walk from the residence. Paramount also arranges outside excursions like hiking, mountain biking and camping so residents can take advantage of the surrounding woods and natural landscape.
Clients shop for their own food and prepare their own meals. There’s no requirement for a daily sit down meal or restrictions on sugar and caffeine.
Rules and Regulations
Clients generally stay at Paramount for three to six months. Though residents are expected to live independently, the house is managed by a LMHC and a CSAC. Clients are required to attend three off-site 12-step meetings a week and submit to random drug testing. Sundays are spent deep cleaning the home and attending case management meetings with a CSAC.
A typical day begins at 8 am. Residents check-in with the house manager and complete required chores. Clients then must be out of the house from 9 am to 1 pm, either working, seeking employment or going to school. There isn’t a hard lights-out time but residents are expected to be home by 11 pm. Clients are permitted to have visitors, cell phones and personal electronic devices.
Paramount offers an off-site IOP for clients who require further treatment. It works within the structure of individual and group therapy that employs evidence-based practices, as well as offers dual diagnosis support. Clients attend three group sessions and one individual session a week and the staff includes LMHCs and LADCs.
Life skill education is integrated in weekly’s case management meetings. A staff member can be assigned as a sober escort for those who need extra support at an outside event. Before leaving, Paramount’s staff works with clients to craft an aftercare plan that includes employment services and academic advising.
Paramount Recovery Services is a strong fit for adult men who have completed inpatient treatment and are capable of living independently in a structured environment. Situated in a rural setting, the program offers ample opportunities for outside recreational activities and exercise. Though its living component is crafted for those who would like to maintain independence, it also provides IOP program for those seek further treatment and support.
