Paradise Recovery Center Review
Founded by a recovering addict with over 25 years sober, Paradise Recovery Center is located in Delray Beach, Florida, about 20 miles south of West Palm Beach. Offering a residential treatment program, Paradise accommodates adult men and women in gender-separated recovery centers in a luxurious, serene environment.
Accommodations and Food
Each residence houses 16 clients—both male and female—at a time. While genders are separated through treatment, they may interact at the clinical center where they receive treatment, or during some recreational activities. All transport is arranged and supervised by staff. The beautiful surrounding beaches offer a relaxing location for clients.
The homes are large, comfortable, and furnished with all necessary items. While both single and shared rooms are available, private rooms incur extra costs and are typically discouraged to avoid isolation. Cellphones and other electronic devices are allowed and large TVs are located in the communal areas. Clients can also enjoy the Florida sunshine relaxing by the large pool or patio.
The kitchens are fully equipped and stocked with healthy items. Staff makes purchases and can cater to dietary restrictions. Clients design meal plans and prepare food communally. Nutritional and dietary guidance is provided to ensure healthy choices are made.
Treatment and Staff
Offering 30, 60 and 90-day programs, clients at Paradise Recovery Center receive highly individualized treatment plans. Medically monitored detox is offered through a highly regarded hospital facility, which is located nearby. Clients in need of detox services are treated in gender-separated accommodations, and are transported to Paradise once the process is complete. The client’s case manager makes all arrangements. If dual diagnosis support is required, clients meet with psychiatrists and doctors to receive tailored medication management.
While treatment plans vary, clients can expect to attend regular 12-step meetings both in-house and at the clinical center, as well as gender-specific group therapy and individual counseling with their primary therapist. Therapeutic techniques include CBT and Motivational Interviewing (MI), as well as process groups. The smaller group sessions are designed to allow clients the opportunity to discuss individual concerns, progress and experiences.
Paradise Recovery Center is staffed by licensed doctors, nurses and LADCs. Paradise believes in granting clients autonomy and that adults who are treated like adults, behave like adults. Adhering to rules and participating in group activities allows clients to actively choose recovery, if they want it.
Extras
Incorporating a holistic approach, guided meditation, yoga and mindfulness training are offered at Paradise Recovery Center. Clients also partake in supervised outings once they are stabilized. Outings often include dinner at restaurants, trips to the movies, and other recreational activities. At the women’s residence, technicians visit weekly to provide clients with manicures and pedicures. These, and the outings, are designed to promote self-care and empowerment.

Paradise Recovery Center provides highly individualized programs in a beautiful beachside setting. The small groups and gender-specific centers allow clients to receive more personal attention than at larger facilities. Underlying causes and conditions stand a greater chance of being identified and new issues can receive targeted treatment. The holistic options, outings and recreational activities also add novelty to an otherwise fairly typical treatment program.
