The Basics
Pacific Clinics is the largest behavioral and mental health agency in Southern California, providing a diverse range of treatment and wellness services, a wide network of facilities and 90 years of community service. With more than 25 offices in Riverside, Orange and Los Angeles Counties, PC’s substance abuse treatment programs are outpatient with a specific focus on co-occurring disorders. PC uses evidence-based treatment and a harm reduction model aiming to support each client’s progress towards becoming highly-functioning and contributing members of their community.
Treatment and Staff
Treatment for both adolescents and adults begins with an initial assessment to determine the individual’s needs and to form an individualized treatment plan as well as recovery goals. Therapies implemented throughout treatment are based in CBT methodology. Group counseling sessions are held daily and clients attend as many as directed by their treatment plan with topics including harm reduction, anger management, coping skills, sobriety and relapse prevention.
There is a specialized group for individuals with co-occurring disorders that works toward sobriety while dealing with additional mental health issues. There are also educational seminars on life skills, basic health, parenting and education for family members on the nature of addiction.
The 12 steps are also integrated into the program with AA/NA meetings held on-site throughout the week. Individual counseling sessions are scheduled independently—usually once a week. There are also social and leisure activities made available to clients to foster sober relationship building and a support system for individuals going through the recovery process.
The staff at PC consists of CADCs and LPCs.
Extras
In addition to the substance abuse treatment program, PC offers a wide range of other behavioral and mental health services and programs. Clients may enroll in prevention programs, vocational services, mental health counseling, school-based programs, multicultural programs and housing services.

PC offers a solid outpatient treatment program with an emphasis on specialized treatment for co-occurring disorders. With access to a continuum of mental health programs and through evidence based practices such as CBT combined with the 12 steps, clients receive a well-rounded treatment foundation serving to sustain lasting wellness.
