The Basics
Pacific Alcohol and Drug Counseling, Inc. was founded in 1989 as a small, private health and wellness agency providing outpatient substance abuse treatment services. Over time it has expanded to two locations—one in Tigard and one in Forest Grove, Oregon—where clients have access to a network of resources and professionals who incorporate a holistic approach to recovery. Pacific Alcohol and Drug Counseling offers two levels of care: a basic outpatient track and an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP).
Treatment and Staff
The outpatient tracks follow the ASAM I and II.1 guidelines for treatment with all therapies utilizing CBT methodology. All clients must initially undergo a clinical drug and alcohol evaluation to determine which track best suits their needs after which an individualized treatment plan is developed. Both the basic outpatient and IOP tracks combine individual and group therapy, educational seminars, holistic methods such as nutrition and mindfulness training, relapse prevention and life and social skills training.
Those enrolled in the basic outpatient track typically attend individual sessions once a week and groups twice a week. Clients in the IOP typically attend one-on-one sessions once or twice a week and group therapy three times a week. The frequencies of the other treatment modalities are determined by each client’s unique needs. The 12 steps are not integrated into the program, however clients are strongly encouraged to attend meetings outside of Pacific Alcohol and Drug Counseling’s program.
The staff at Pacific Alcohol and Drug Counseling consists of clinicians, CADCs, Licensed LSWs and LPCs.
Extras
In addition to a comprehensive outpatient treatment program, Pacific Alcohol and Drug Counseling also offers criminal justice related services. These types of services include making sure that DWI clients meet court requirements, resolving out-of-state requirements for specific offenses and working in tandem with drug and family courts.
