The Basics

Outreach Recovery is a treatment network that specializes in the care of clients struggling with alcohol and substance use disorders. With 15 clinic locations throughout the states of Maryland, Washington D.C., eastern Pennsylvania, Virginia and New Jersey, Outreach Recovery treats thousands of clients with chemical dependencies including heroin, opiates, Percocet, hydrocodone and oxycodone addiction. The organization can facilitate Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) like Suboxone, Vivitrol, Subutex, Zubsolv, Sublocade and Probuphine. Outreach primarily offers detox and standard outpatient services but can provide referrals for residential treatment and/or Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP).

Treatment and Staff

Before beginning treatment, clients first undergo a psychological and physiological assessment that helps the staff determine the most effective medications that meets the individual’s specific needs. In many cases, clients that have abused drugs can take years to heal. Outreach seeks to help individuals achieve a sustainable, long-term recovery. The right medications curb uncomfortable withdrawal effects as well as the inevitable cravings.

While part of every client’s care plan is physician consultations, the type of MAT offered varies depending on the specific needs of the individual. The facility frequently provides Suboxone to treat clients struggling with painkiller and opioid addiction, and Vivitrol for individuals with a heroin addiction. Vivitrol is an injectable medication, and typically used once a month. Outreach also treats pregnant women through the use of Subutex where, unlike methadone, both mother and child do not suffer from withdrawal symptoms. For clients that have already used Suboxone and continue to struggle, Outreach uses Sublocade, an injectable buprenorphine injection. The facility also provides the medication Zubsolv as an alternative to Suboxone. It is the generic equivalent and thus is less expensive.

The treatment team at Outreach Recovery is staffed by physicians, addiction specialists and nurses. The facility provides medically-assisted care for clients with substance use disorders.

Extras

Outreach also offers probuphine implants. In a short outpatient procedure, four small rods are placed under the skin in the client’s arm. This is the first and only product for opioid addiction that provides non-fluctuating blood levels of buprenorphine around-the-clock for a period of six months following a single treatment procedure. Four small rods are placed under skin in the client’s arm.

In Summary

With 12 clinic location and eight in Maryland alone, Outreach Recovery provides outpatient medically-assisted care for clients struggling with addiction throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Through a combination of physician consultation and addiction medicine, the clinicians at Outreach bridge the gap between acute treatment and a long-term recovery. For clients seeking a non-therapeutic approach to care, Outreach Recovery is an excellent resource.
