One to One Treatment is a private outpatient rehab based in West Los Angeles, with another location about 90 miles north in Santa Barbara, California. The facility was founded in 2009 by Ray Santamaria, MA, LMFT. Santamaria has worked extensively in treatment and saw a gap in the typical continuum of care and decided to create a rehab that provides completely personalized outpatient care. One to One provides three levels of flexible outpatient care for those struggling with addiction and co-occurring disorders. The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is the highest level of care, the customizable outpatient is designed as an aftercare option and the applied treatment program is designed to provide a low level of long-term care. The applied treatment program is only available at the LA location.
Treatment and Staff
Before beginning treatment, clients go through an initial assessment process to help staff members develop their individualized treatment plans. Though all programs vary depending on clients’ needs, each generally lasts for about 90 days with clients working their way through the continuum.
The IOP provides a residential level of structure and clinical attention in a non-residential setting. IOP is commonly nine or more hours a week and is customized to meet the client’s needs. The customizable outpatient level of care is recommended for clients graduating from a residential facility, functioning well enough in their life to succeed at the outpatient level, or those who have previous treatment experience and are struggling to stay sober. The customizable program is commonly six to eight hours a week. The applied program is a group-based, next step in dual diagnosis and mental health care. This program is designed to assist in actually applying what has been learned in a previous treatment experience, whether it be a residential or outpatient program. Applied care can last up to six months, sometimes longer.
Treatment includes individual and group therapy with a wide variety of evidence-based practices such as CBT, DBT and Somatic Experiencing. When appropriate, trauma-informed therapy, EMDR and medication management are also employed. Groups cover a range of topics including 12-step education, relapse prevention, mindfulness, anger management and domestic violence.
In addition to Santamaria, who works out of the LA office as executive director, the staff at both One to One Treatment locations consists of LMFTs, LCSWs, psychiatrists and additional Master’s-level clinicians.
One to One Treatment also offers individualized family programs, for both families of clients and those who do not have a loved one in treatment at this facility. Family support services may include psychoeducation and family systems education and therapy.
Overall, One to One Treatment is a great option for men and women seeking outpatient care for addiction and co-occurring disorders. For those seeking a flexible outpatient rehab with highly experienced and attentive staff, the programs at the One to One Treatment facilities are an awesome choice.
