The Basics
Omni Youth Services Substance Abuse Program is the addictions treatment program offered by Omni Youth Services, a youth development organization that offers various services and programs to the young people in suburban Chicago. Located in Buffalo Grove, the substance abuse treatment program has both a basic outpatient track and an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) that incorporate evidence-based methods to treat both adolescents and adults of Illinois.
Treatment and Staff
Before being enrolled into either program, clients are first evaluated and assessed to determine which program best fits their needs and which forms of therapy will be most beneficial. An individualized treatment plan is developed, but is flexible and subject to change depending on the progress of each individual client.
Both the basic track and the IOP combine individual and group therapy as well as family therapy, all incorporating CBT methodology. Both programs also frequently and randomly administer drug tests. The difference between tracks is the number of hours spent in therapy each week; clients in the IOP are required to attend a minimum of six hours per week, while the basic track requires up to six hours of treatment.
Omni Youth Services also offers an adolescent program known as the Seven Challenges. This track allows young clients to address their unique issues with substance abuse and to process their problems on their own using tools they develop in treatment. Clients may progress through these challenges at their own pace. The 12-steps are not included in any of the treatment programs, but clients may be referred to a local chapter if desired.
The staff at Omni Youth Services consists of MSWs, BSs and a BBA.
Extras
In addition to the various substance abuse treatment programs, Omni Youth Services also offers numerous other services and programs. Adventure therapy services, counseling, prevention education, family preservation, juvenile justice and a girl’s after school program are all available for clients and the broader community.

The Omni Youth Services Substance Abuse Program offers various levels of outpatient treatment depending on each client’s unique recovery and scheduling needs. With a basic outpatient track, an IOP and a specialized adolescent program, clients are given a solid base for recovery through evidence-based therapies and individualized treatment plans.
