Accommodations and Food
Located in the stunning residential neighborhood of Cassiobury Park and surrounded by the public park in Watford, the facility is situated on the estate where the first Earl of Essex lived in the late 1600s. The now renovated spacious living quarters were once a hunting lodge. Ocean Recovery provides a comfortable and private environment that is the perfect place for self-reflection. With only 13 residents at a time and an on-site medical team available 24 hours a day, clients never lack for attention. Residents stay in private rooms equipped with queen sized beds, nice furnishings, en suite bathrooms and TVs.
The facility ensures that clients receive the essential nutrients necessary to replenish their bodies. A nutritionist educates clients on the importance of a healthy diet and also works with the culinary team to prepare every meal. Clients with dietary preferences and allergies can be accommodated.
Treatment and Staff
On the day of arrival to admission, clients undergo a full assessment that is used by staff to develop the most effective personalized treatment program optimized to meet their needs. The assessment is performed in a one-on-one session and will be used as a baseline to discuss progress throughout treatment. If deemed necessary, clients transition into a detox program that rids the body of the physical components of addiction. The facility can offer a medically-assisted detox if needed as well as a rapid detox program that lasts 10 days, for clients that cannot commit to a longer treatment. Following the completion of detox, most clients transition into the residential stage of treatment.
Watford offers a completely individualized residential treatment with lengths of time ranging between nine and 90 days. On the first day, clients are assigned a key support worker that acts as a mentor and guides them throughout the program. Residents participate in individual and group sessions with therapies ranging from evidence-based like CBT and Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT), to holistic methods including yoga, meditation and acupuncture as well as being introduced to the spiritual component of 12-step. In addition, psychoeducation classes are provided including neurobiology and addiction, nutrition, stress management, relapse prevention as well as relaxation technology.
The Watford team is comprised of psychotherapists, certified addiction specialists, a consulting psychiatrist as well as speciality therapists like a yoga teacher, meditation instructor and an art therapist. Medication management is available for clients with co-occurring disorders.
Watford offers 12 months of free aftercare for clients that complete the program. Much like residential, aftercare is customized to the specific challenges the client will face in regular life.
