The Basics
Located in the upscale Orange County city of Mission Viejo, California, OC Anxiety Center (OCAC) is an outpatient treatment facility aiming to help individuals overcome anxiety-related disorders through direct clinical therapy as well as research. Founded in 2015 by Dr. Curtis Hsia, OC Anxiety Center provides an individualized approach that combines evidence-based therapies with holistic methods. Treatment and Staff
Upon intake, clients undergo an assessment to help the staff determine the most effective individualized treatment program. Clients struggling with all types of anxiety and co-occurring disorders, including social phobias, Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD), Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), Trichotillomania (hair pulling) and issues related to Asperger’s and autism are welcomed. While there is no specific care for addiction provided, those who have already completed a substance abuse treatment program and are still struggling with anxiety can find specialized help here.
The assessment is comprehensive and can include family members in some cases. The initial assessment also informs the overall goals and objectives of treatment. Length of care varies depending on the specific needs of the individual, and ranges from a one week intensive to a maintenance protocol that can last a year or more. Treatment includes evidence-based methods like CBT, DBT, Exposure and Response Therapy and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy. In addition, family therapy sessions are a key aspect to the success of a long-term recovery.
The OCAC team includes Dr. Hsia and Dr. Stephanie Davis, a counselor specializing in anxiety related disorders in children and adolescents. Additional clinicians and office staff are also on hand. In some cases, the doctors can also work with the client’s referring psychiatrist, treatment center, outside mental health professionals and dieticians.

Dr. Hsia frequently gives pro bono lectures to local schools, parent teacher associations, churches and professional groups, and offers a monthly alumni support group on-site. He also continues to engage in research through the OCAC and actively publishes and presents findings at national and international conferences.
