The Basics
Opened in 1996, the Eagle Heights Church was created by Pastor David Bullock in an effort to “connect unconnected people to Jesus”. Over the twenty years since its founding, the church has expanded to offer not only religious services but counseling services as well. Under the church’s umbrella, the Oasis Care Center provides outpatient substance abuse, marital counseling and mental health care services with an emphasis on the Christian faith.
Treatment and Staff
Substance abuse treatment and other counseling services through EHC are individualized to each client’s needs. Before enrolling in treatment, individuals must have a phone consultation with Pastor David to arrange an in-person evaluation. All treatment is based on the 12 steps with a focus on the Christian faith. The primary method of treatment is individual therapy with a CADC. All counselors are available to facilitate family and couples therapy as well so that recovery can be manifested and supported in the home.
Three nights per week, Celebrate Recovery meetings are held in lieu of group therapy. Tuesday evenings at 6:30 pm there are two separate step study meetings with the Big Book of AA. On Wednesday evenings at 6:30 pm, another step study meeting is held for program members who have worked past the third step with their sponsors. On Thursday evenings, a meal is hosted for members at 5:45 pm for fellowship among program attendees. Following the dinner, a large group meeting is held from 6:30 to 7:30 pm then smaller group meetings from 7:30 to 8:30 pm. The purpose of these meetings is to unite the program members together so that they may support each other through the recovery process.
There is no minimum length of treatment, as all processes are individualized to the client and their progress through the program. Dual diagnosis support is offered as well as community resources for additional support. If a client wishes to further pursue their faith, discipleship programs are offered through the church.
Extras
Family services and support are offered through ministry programs which allow clients to grow in their faith. Eagle Heights hosts multiple events throughout the year including dinners, chili cook-offs and movie nights. Social functions allow clients to develop connections with other individuals in recovery and to establish a peer support group.
