Oasis Bradford Review
Oasis Bradford is located in West Yorkshire, near Leeds. The facility was built in 2009 to provide accessible treatment for residents with disabilities. Oasis Bradford was acquired by UK Addiction Treatment Centres, a network of six economical to mid-range treatment facilities in the United Kingdom that has been in operation for over two years.
Most clients stay at the facility seven to 14 days. Many choose to continue treatment in UK Addiction Centres’ residential or sober living programs, including its nearby residential program, Oasis Runcorn.
Oasis Bradford takes a multidisciplinary approach to treatment, and clients can avail themselves of multiple therapy groups, peer support meetings and individual therapy while in detox.
Accommodations and Food
The facility occupies a former industrial building. It’s been newly-renovated and features a bright, modern decor. There are a total of 17 beds and most clients have roommates. Clients can relax in the communal lounge, which has TV, DVDs, books and games for recreation. The residence also features a courtyard space for smoking and socializing. A professional catering staff prepares all meals and snacks and is happy to accommodate dietary restrictions.
Treatment and Staff
The treatment team at Oasis Bradford includes counsellors, recovery support workers and a 24/7 nursing staff. Oasis also has a consulting psychiatrist to treat clients with co-occurring disorders. Clients in need of medical and dental care are taken to nearby facilities for treatment and consultation.
While in detox, clients are encouraged to attend processing groups and individual therapy as soon as they’re stabilized. Therapy uses CBT, Motivational Enhancement Therapy and solutions-focused therapy. Clients can also attend 12-step meetings and receive guidance and support on working the 12 step framework. In addition, Oasis provides classes on guided relaxation. Clients can also use the facility spa and receive auricular acupuncture from the nursing staff.
Extras
Family members are encouraged to visit the facility before admitting their loved one. They can then visit on Sundays and receive telephone updates throughout the week.
Each client is provided with extensive discharge planning and are given options to continue treatment both inside and outside of the UK Addiction Treatment Centres network. As an alumni of UK Addiction Treatment Centres, all residents who complete their treatment plan can receive one year of weekly relapse prevention groups free of charge.
