The Basics

With two locations in Southern California, Laguna Hills and Fullerton, Oak Health Center is a private treatment organization that offers outpatient addiction and co-occurring disorder care for adolescents and adults. Treatment is comprised of several different modalities through group and individual therapy, provided by a team of psychiatrists and therapists.

Treatment and Staff

After an initial assessment by a clinical staff member, a treatment program is implemented for each client. These programs can include either group or individual therapy, or if it seems like the client would benefit from a more structured schedule, there may be offered both. Group therapy can either be coed or gender specific and addresses a variety of concerns and issues. This can include depressive and mood disorders, phobias, eating disorders, pre or post-natal trauma, depression or anxiety, and the impacts of domestic violence, to name a few.

Treatment modalities are evidence-based and can include medication management for dual diagnosis clients, as well as frequent check up with a psychiatric care provider. CBT, Motivational Interviewing (MI) Solution Based, EMDR and trauma-informed care are commonly used with clients, and 12-step support is also provided.

Esther Park heads up the Oak Health Center staff, and is a child and adult psychiatrist. Additionally staff members at both locations include physicians, addiction specialists, clinical psychologists, LMFTs, and patient care coordinators. As an added bonus, a number of the staff are bilingual and can provide treatment in Spanish and Korean.

Extras

Family and couples therapy services are provided on an individualized basis. There are also anger management, stress management and life management classes. Oak Health also provides a number of specialty treatment services, like infertility groups, treatment for those who have experienced a rape or other sexual assault, have developmental or learning disabilities, are members of the LGBTQ community and for clients who are dealing with eating disorders.

In Summary

The highly trained staff at Oak Health Center offers a variety of specializations from chemical dependency to trauma to disabilities. They provide a sensitive environment in which to seek support and an array of treatment options. This is a good choice for anyone in Orange County seeking  help for addiction or mental health concerns.
