Oregon City OregonThe Basics

The Northwest Treatment facility has provided substance abuse and DUI treatment for over three decades. With their main office in Oregon City, Northwest has three additional facilities throughout the state of Oregon—in Milwaukie, Molalla and Canby. Specializing in education-based treatment, clients can fulfill court obligations and access affordable outpatient care.

Treatment and Staff

Each office of Northwest Treatment provides outpatient treatment primarily for clients referred through the court systems for DUI and possession offenses, though self-admitted individuals are accepted as well. All potential clients attend a mandatory orientation meeting with a CADC. Orientation allows clients to become more informed about the treatment process at Northwest. After orientation is completed, accepted clients attend a 90 minute intake appointment ($85) which include a full assessment with the staff coordinator and enrollment in the appropriate program.

Northwest offers several treatment tracks including a Minor in Possession (MIP) program, DUI program, an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and a basic outpatient track. The MIP program primarily focuses on education and intervention classes and includes a marijuana diversion group. The DUI program intensity and length depends on the number of convictions a client has as well as court requirements. These clients must also attend a minimum number of 12-step meetings as indicated by the specific requirements of their case. Driver’s license services are also offered, allowing clients to maintain driving privileges with a restricted license.

Basic outpatient and the IOP incorporate both group and individual therapy. Each client attends at least one group session per week, depending on their individualized treatment plan. Each group runs for two hours and covers psycho-education topics and relapse prevention skills. One group each week uses the AA/NA meeting model to allow clients to become familiarized with 12-step methods. Individual therapy is conducted on a weekly basis for clients to further their personal recovery journey. All clients are expected to remain abstinent during their stay and random drug screens are submitted ($35 per test).

Extras

Aftercare groups are scheduled once per week and follow the same price schedule as the group therapy classes. Clients attend aftercare groups to maintain sobriety support and reinforce relapse prevention skills.

In Summary

Northwest Treatment offers a range of outpatient substance abuse programs which are both affordable and qualified to meet Oregon court system requirements. Drug and Alcohol counselors conduct all groups and individual sessions to support clients in their recovery goals.
