North Fulton Treatment Center was founded in 1997 in Roswell, Georgia, a mid-sized city just north of Atlanta. The organization offers standard-level outpatient substance abuse treatment to adults in the area.
Treatment and Staff
Treatment consists of a mixture of individual and group therapy. The exact length and intensity of the program is based on counselor assessment and therefore, varies from person to person. Group sizes are generally small, ranging from 10 to 15 clients per group. Counselors use a variety of treatment techniques including CBT, Motivational Interviewing (MI), relapse prevention, education and sharing. Individual sessions are scheduled as needed.
North Fulton is not 12-step based but counselors do highly recommend clients attend outside AA and NA meetings and find a sponsor while in the program. The organization is equipped to treat clients with a dual diagnosis and offers additional individual sessions with a mental health counselor. It also provides Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) for clients with opiate dependency, by way of methadone and Subutex.
Additional services include family therapy upon client’s consent. Sessions aim to address issues related to the client’s substance abuse and establish healthy communication practices.
North Fulton Treatment Center offers a supportive environment for recovery using evidence-based practices, MAT and substantial resources for clients with co-occurring disorders. For those looking for formalized professional help with substance abuse while still maintaining their regular schedules, North Fulton Treatment Center is a solid choice.
