The Basics
North County Center for Change is based out of Vista, California and provides flexible outpatient treatment and case management services to clients sentenced through drug court. The facility is part of Mental Health Systems, a large behavioral health organization since 1978, that operates several treatment programs of this kind throughout the state.
Treatment and Staff
As required by drug court, all clients of North County Center for Change must complete a minimum of 12 months of treatment; however, those charged with more serious sexual or violent offenses are not eligible for the program.
Though each track is individualized, treatment works within the structure of group and individual therapy using the evidence-based practices of CBT and REBT. In addition, clients may be required to attend 12-step meetings as a part of their program. Regular and random drug testing take place during the course of treatment and additional support for clients with co-occurring disorders is also available.
Each client receives case management services, which may include job training, job search assistance, community referrals or placement in detox, residential treatment or sober living if necessary.
Staff consists of CATCs, case managers and Master’s-level therapists.
Extras
Primary care programs come with an additional six months of aftercare.

While North County Center for Change is limited to court-ordered clientele, it offers a number of helpful services to those who qualify. Its year-long program uses a combination of evidence-based modalities, 12-step support and case management services to provide solid building blocks for a lasting sober life.
