The programs at Nirvana require a minimum commitment of 30 days and often clients end up staying for 60 to 90 days. During the residential phase, clients experience gender specific group therapy, with the frequency and focus individualized to meet every client’s specific needs. The programs offer best practice approaches and are based in the 12-step philosophy. Clients are required attend daily off-site AA and NA meetings in the community and establish a relationship with a sponsor during treatment.
Therapeutic modalities include elements of Behavior Modification, Stages of Change, CBT, DBT and Motivational Interviewing (MI). This facility finds the gender-specific programs especially beneficial for their female clients, and also offer trauma informed care and EMDR if necessary. Psychoeducational classes covering topics like relapse prevention techniques, coping skills, anger management and social skills are incorporated into daily therapy schedules.
