The Basics
Newport Integrated Behavioral Healthcare is a Joint Commission-accredited treatment facility in Atlanta that provides residential care as well as a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), a day program and general outpatient services for clients with alcohol and substance use disorders. While Newport is headed by a board-certified psychiatrist, the facility employs an integrative care approach that includes individual, group and family therapy as well as holistic treatment.
Treatment and Staff
Newport provides PHP, IOP and day treatment programming options ideal for clients that need treatment but do not require around-the-clock inpatient care. The PHP offers comprehensive care between 9 am and 3 pm Monday through Friday. Clients often step down to the day program, which offers flexible scheduling with weekend and weekday evening options. Individuals are able to continue a structure therapy routine while continuing to work or go to school. The IOP is approximately three hours per day.
Newport offers individualized care that is customized to the client’s specific needs and goals as determined by a comprehensive intake assessment. While psychiatric services and medication management are integral components to the programming, the facility integrates an array of therapeutic methods into the care approach. Clients engage in individual psychotherapy, group therapy and family sessions as well as psychoeducation classes. Newport provides age and gender-specific therapy groups that focus on anger management, life skills, how to cope with triggers, problem solving and relapse prevention. For clients struggling with opioids, the facility provides Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) through the use of buprenorphine and naltrexone. Pregnant women with an opioid addiction are treated for free.
The Newport staff is comprised of a board-certified psychiatrist as well as psychologists, addiction specialists, counselors and a nursing team. Clients with co-occurring mental conditions are treated through medication management.
