Based out of Cottonwood Heights, Utah, New Roads Behavioral Health is a multi-faceted organization that provides a range of treatment services to clients struggling with addiction and co-occurring disorders. The women’s program is housed in a dorm-style facility with a total of 32 beds available for residents. All clients stay in shared rooms with twin beds, end tables, dressers and shared closet space. The rest of the facility includes outdoor patios and gardens, comfortable therapy rooms, shared areas with cable TV and WiFi, a common dining room and a fully-equipped kitchen. Throughout their stay, residents are served three healthy meals a day.
Treatment and Staff
Before beginning treatment, all clients go through an initial intake and assessment process to help staff members develop their treatment plans. While detox services are not available on-site, those in need can get referrals to nearby programs as necessary. Once stabilized, all participants attend individual and group therapy rooted in evidence-based practices including CBT, DBT and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Dual diagnosis support including medication management is also available.
Groups cover a wide range of topics including mindfulness, meditation, life skills, emotional processing, anger management and psychoeducation. While 12-step participation is not necessarily required, the curriculum does draw on some AA/NA teachings. Those who complete treatment can get referrals to nearby peer support groups as well.
The staff at New Roads Behavioral Health includes psychiatrists, MDs, LCSWs, LMHCs, RNs and additional Master’s-level clinicians.
Extras
As mentioned, flexible outpatient care plans are also offered for those who complete a primary care regimen. Standalone services are also available including a PRIME for Life program for clients with DUI/DWIs, as are drug and alcohol education groups and psychological assessments. Finally, the organization can also place alums in transitional living programs nearby as well.
