New Roads Behavioral Health Women’s Residential Review

Based out of Cottonwood Heights, Utah, New Roads Behavioral Health is a multi-faceted organization that provides a range of treatment services to clients struggling with addiction and co-occurring disorders. The organization provides flexible outpatient and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), and gender-specific residential treatment. The women’s inpatient track is a good option for client seeking a female-only environment for early recovery.

Accommodations and Food

The women’s program is housed in a dorm-style facility with a total of 32 beds available for residents. All clients stay in shared rooms with twin beds, end tables, dressers and shared closet space. The rest of the facility includes outdoor patios and gardens, comfortable therapy rooms, shared areas with cable TV and WiFi, a common dining room and a fully-equipped kitchen. Throughout their stay, residents are served three healthy meals a day.

Treatment and Staff

Before beginning treatment, all clients go through an initial intake and assessment process to help staff members develop their treatment plans. While detox services are not available on-site, those in need can get referrals to nearby programs as necessary. Once stabilized, all participants attend individual and group therapy rooted in evidence-based practices including CBT, DBT and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Dual diagnosis support including medication management is also available.

Groups cover a wide range of topics including mindfulness, meditation, life skills, emotional processing, anger management and psychoeducation. While 12-step participation is not necessarily required, the curriculum does draw on some AA/NA teachings. Those who complete treatment can get referrals to nearby peer support groups as well.

The staff at New Roads Behavioral Health includes psychiatrists, MDs, LCSWs, LMHCs, RNs and additional Master’s-level clinicians.

As mentioned, flexible outpatient care plans are also offered for those who complete a primary care regimen. Standalone services are also available including a PRIME for Life program for clients with DUI/DWIs, as are drug and alcohol education groups and psychological assessments. Finally, the organization can also place alums in transitional living programs nearby as well.

In Summary

Overall, New Roads Behavioral Health’s women’s program offers a safe and stable environment for clients pursuing recovery. The program includes evidence-based care, psychiatric oversight and dual diagnosis support as well. Though the cost of treatment is likely to vary depending on the strength of each client’s insurance, New Roads Behavioral Health’s women’s program remains a strong resource for those in the area.

My daughter Savannah died while in the care of New Roads. She was not supposed to be without a roommate according to their policy, but she was left with out one. She easily gained access to heroin while living in the New Roads apartments. There was no investigation, no change of policy, no true explanation as to why my daughter died while under their care. “These things happen, we are very sorry”.
This facility is interested in your money only. Care of your loved one is clearly not a priority.
This would be the last facility I would recommend. There are certainly some staff members who care, but the bottom line is money, they are there to make a profit. Feel free to contact me with any more details you would like. Save your loved ones life, send them anywhere else but New Roads. Sal 720-90807701
