The Basics
Located about forty-five miles northwest of New York City in West Milford, New Jersey, New Life Recovery Center is a counseling facility that provides client-centered outpatient care for addiction, mental illness and co-occurring disorders. Treatment for substance abuse is available in the form of an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), with tracks for adults and adolescents.
Treatment and Staff
Upon intake, clients undergo an initial assessment so that an individualized treatment plan focuses on healing the mind, body and spirit may be developed. The adolescent program lasts for 16 to 24 weeks and meets in the evenings, to accommodate those who are still in school. Working within the structure of group therapy and psychoeducational sessions, groups employ the evidence-based methods of CBT and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Though similar in duration and frequency, the adult programs include individual therapy and put more focus on 12-step principles and relapse prevention. Clients may add family therapy and additional one-on-one counseling sessions for addressing co-occurring disorders. The staff of New Life Recovery Center consists of CADCs and Master’s-level clinicians.
Extras
Aftercare is available for both teens and adults in the form of a continuing recovery group, a less intensive treatment track that meets weekly. Other services include drug screenings, psychiatric consultations, crisis intervention and emergency services. The facility also has a number of outreach and service support options for clients looking to get more involved in the community during their recovery.
