Founded in 1996, New Leaf Treatment Center is a rehab facility in the affluent Oakland suburb of Lafayette, California. Treatment and Staff
New Leaf Treatment Center offers a variety of treatment options. Both the youth and adult programs last 12 weeks and every client is provided with an individualized treatment plan that is created by the medical director according to their specific needs. Outpatient detox, Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), and individual, group and family therapy are offered in both programs.
The cornerstone of treatment at New Leaf Treatment center is group therapy twice a week. They combine CBT with a psychoeducational approach that teaches clients to identify the cause of their cravings and how to best manage them. There’s also a relapse prevention workshop offered three times a week for one hour and a weekly hour-long family program.
The staff of 14 includes several medical doctors, MFTs, clinical pharmacists, nurses and research experts. Each staff member is committed to staying current on all methods of treatment as well as educating clients about the science of addiction and recovery.
Extras
The goal of the youth outpatient program is to help clients learn to choose healthy alternatives to doing drugs. With that in mind, New Leaf Treatment Center offers an activity night once a week with such options as biking, fishing, golfing, hiking, laser tag, movie night, rock climbing and sailing. Life Skills courses are also offered in the youth program, which includes healthy eating and cooking, healthy dating and relationships, safe sex, time management, stress reduction and career planning.
Pain management is also offered in both the youth and adult programs; it is client-specific and physician-monitored to ensure comfort for the client without developing addictive tendencies.
The six-month aftercare program is recommended for all clients, consisting of a weekly intermediate recovery group and individual counseling sessions.
