The Basics
Omaha, Nebraska’s New Leaf Therapy Associates is an outpatient treatment facility that is comprised of several different therapists who run their own private practice under the same roof. Group sessions meet once or twice a week for 60 to 90 minutes. These sessions discuss relapse prevention and coping skills while offering spirituality, guidance and elements of the 12 steps. There is also a weekly SMART Recovery meeting that are open and free of charge. Additionally, New Leaf hosts an alcohol and drug education class that is an all day program for clients who have been convicted of driving under the influence.
The therapists at New Leaf use a variety of therapeutic approaches and customize their treatments for their clients. They specialize in depression, anxiety, trauma, parenting and sexual abuse. Treatment protocols include EMDR, CBT, DBT, Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) Integrative and Family Systems Therapy. There are also specific methods used for younger clients, such as expressive therapy, play therapy and art therapy.
Though New Leaf only offers counseling, there are opportunities for clients who are dealing with behavioral health challenges that may require medical attention to be referred to the appropriate facility for further assistance is that arena.
The therapists of New Leaf are a combination of LMHC, LADC, NCC and NAADAC.
