The Basics
New Hope Drug and Alcohol Treatment Program is a non-profit organization established in 2005 with the mission to provide substance abuse treatment for adults and adolescents in need. Located in Los Angeles, California, New Hope offers both a prevention program as well as outpatient programs for both adults and adolescents for the treatment of substance abuse.
Treatment and Staff
The New Hope adolescent track is for clients between the ages of 10 and 20 years old with groups scheduled Monday through Friday and occasionally on Saturdays. Group therapy topics include anger management, social skills, coping skills, parenting classes if needed and assistance in completing community service hours. Individual therapy is scheduled independently between the client and their primary therapist.
The adult track is for clients 21 and older. Group sessions for adults are held several times throughout the week with topics changing frequently. Individual sessions are scheduled based on the needs of the client. Like the adolescent program, the adult track also offers classes that teach clients anger management, social skills, coping skills and parenting skills. The program also works closely with the Department of Children and Family Services and the Courts and Probation Services helping clients meet court requirements. The 12 steps are not incorporated into treatment.
The staff at New Hope consists of LSWs, LPCs and CADACs.
Extras
In addition to the adolescent and adult outpatient programs, New Hope offers a prevention program that includes a variety of different services. Extra services include a drug and alcohol awareness class, life skills, health education, information and referrals and high school groups for drug and alcohol related problems.
