A New Day Review
Located in Palm Beach, Florida, A New Day is set in the perfect environment for healing and recovery. Their inpatient program is devoted to a holistic treatment approach, focusing on healing the mind, body and spirit. Once the program is completed, New Day offers aftercare for clients who have completed the program to continue their recovery.
Accommodations and Food
New Day residential treatment takes place in a beautiful, home-like setting on Palm Beach’s scenic Singer Island. There are 28 beds in the co-ed facility and although clients must share a room with another client of the same gender, each gets their own full-size bed, cabinet and closet for personal items. There are numerous common spaces for lounging and leisure, rooms set aside for group sessions and a comfy living room with a TV. Meals are served three times a day in the dining room, family-style.
Treatment and Staff
The inpatient program at New Day is broken down into two phases. During the first treatment phase, staff takes care of almost everything for the client to ease the individual into treatment—including preparing all meals and scheduling individual sessions. Clients have the option to attend any number of the five group therapy sessions offered on-site throughout the day. In addition to holistic practices, CBT and DBT are also implemented. Dual-diagnosis support with a psychiatrist can be arranged for clients with co-occurring disorders. Residents have 24-hour access to their counselor throughout treatment. While clients continue to have the same access to treatment and therapy during phase two, they are expected to make their own meals, schedule their own appointments and meetings and generally organize their day. Taking on these responsibilities aim to prepare clients for their completion of the program into aftercare.
The staff at New Day consists of psychiatrists, CADCs, an acupuncturist and a holistic teacher who leads workshops on meditation and mindfulness.
Extras
New Day’s proximity to the ocean means clients get to enjoy regular planned outings to the beach. In addition, activities like meditation, yoga and acupuncture at no extra cost help establish and maintain a mind-body connection.
New Day’s weekly aftercare program is available free of charge to clients who successfully complete the program and they will also provide referrals to nearby sober living houses.
