New Day Recovery Review
New Day Recovery is a CARF accredited treatment program with three locations in Ohio. Programming includes a comprehensive medical detox for men and women, and a residential track for men. Each client has an individualized treatment plan put into place upon admission. New Day Recovery integrates the 12 steps along with group and individual therapy, and a variety of holistic approaches. The caring staff fosters a safe, secure environment for all residents.
Accommodations and Food
Though the residential facility is also a medical clinic, the accommodations are comfortable, spacious and home-like. There are 45 beds in total and each client has one roommate. Bedrooms are furnished with full beds, dressers and two closets, and includes an en suite bathroom. Clients enjoy several lounge areas with couches, mounted TVs, along with places to just sit and read, or chat with another client.
The dining room consists of a long, family style table where clients enjoy their meals. There is an emphasis on nutrition at New Day Recovery, and the menus are overseen by a dietitian. Professional chefs prepare the food in an industrial kitchen. Clients eat comfort food three times a day, in addition to several healthy snack options, coffee and tea.
Treatment and Staff
An average day includes about seven hours of programming, which is a combination of group and individual counseling, case management and therapeutic activities. Groups address relapse prevention, self care, setting healthy boundaries, improving communication and relationships and coping skills. The group sessions are kept fairly small in number, and there is a low staff-to-client ratio.
Therapeutic models include Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET), CBT, person centered therapy, and trauma-informed care. Medication management is available for clients with a dual diagnosis, and Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) for those who have detoxed from opioids.
The staff is comprised of a multidisciplinary team of addiction specialists. The team includes LCSWs, LPCCs, LPCs, CDACs, a medical director and nursing staff.
Extras
New Day Recovery offers several recreational and therapeutic outings and activities for clients to participate in during treatment. There is an on-site gym. An outdoor space is available for working out, picnics, movie nights, aromatherapy, massages, yoga, art and music therapy, and daily meditation.

The residential program at New Day Recovery is a perfect step-down from detox. The gender-specific treatment focuses on helping the clients heal as a whole while learning new coping skills, life skills and how to live sober.
