Louisiana’s New Day Recovery is a comprehensive treatment facility located in Shreveport and West Monroe. Its evidence-based programming and 12-step support are available in several different levels of care, including a medical detox, residential program and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). New Day Recovery outpatient is CARF accredited and not only provides a solid therapeutic and medical element within programming plans, but also individualized approaches that include spiritual counseling, relapse prevention and specialized dual diagnosis services.
Treatment and Staff
The IOP is a nine hour program that mainly takes place in a group therapy setting. It is fairly flexible and offers treatment seven days a week in order to accommodate their clients’ work and personal lives and schedules. Monday through Friday there are groups in the morning and evening in both the Shreveport and West Monroe facilities. There are also afternoon options on Saturdays and Sundays.
The IOP focuses on clients learning coping techniques, moral and cognitive development and reducing the likelihood of relapse by applying practical approaches to recovery. During group sessions clients explore what may have led to their addiction in the first place. They also implement healthy boundaries and establish lifestyle changes.
Treatment consists of AA meetings, Christian counseling, medication management and dual diagnosis specific treatment protocols. Therapeutic methods include CBT, DBT, and Motivational Interviewing (MI). It’s worth noting, there are also medication management options using Vivitrol and Suboxone.
The dual diagnosis programming offers a series of treatments that coincide with addiction. This program focuses on addressing these clients’ concerns, while also connecting them to the staff psychiatrists, and additional behavioral health care staff. This includes medication management and check-ins on a regular basis.
Additional outpatient care staff includes LPC, LCSW and case managers.
Extras
Clients can get transportation to and from treatment in both locations. Aftercare uses Celebrate Recovery meetings as a continuation of the treatment program. Case management services are readily available during the IOP. Finally, New Day offers family and couples therapy at every level of care.
