New Day Recovery Detox Review
Ohio based New Day Recovery is a detox and residential treatment program that provides comprehensive programming options for men and women with three locations throughout the state. The detox program utilizes the disease model throughout treatment and offers a holistic approach to treat clients who are dealing with addiction and co-occurring disorders. New Day Recovery’s programming is based on the 12 steps while educating and encouraging each individual through caring and structured protocols.
Accommodations and Food
The 16 bed detox facility aims to provide a comfortable, home-like experience that is relaxing and conducive to healing during the initial stages of recovery. The campus is very clean and private, and clients share their rooms with one other person with an en suite bathroom. There is an enclosed courtyard that with picnic tables and an area that is designated for smokers. Some of the common areas throughout the facility include the main lounge that offers a flat screen TV and digital cable, shared dining room where clients enjoy home cooked meals together, and a fire pit.
Treatment and Staff
At the initial stage of treatment clients are provided with medications to help ease them through the discomfort of withdrawal. There is staff on hand 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Several support meetings are held on site including AA, NA, and HA and clients are encouraged to attend when they are feeling well enough to do so. In addition, clients have the option of attending Big Book study. There are also a number of faith based meetings that focus on the concept of forgiveness.
Depending on what the client is detoxing from, the process may last between three and seven days. During this time there are nutritional classes, relaxation sessions, financial planning and career development classes. Clients have group therapy and meet with a counselor to discuss the next step in treatment, which can include a residential program at New Day, or an outpatient program at another facility.
There is a multidisciplinary team of clinicians on staff at New Day Recovery. This includes a medical director, LPCC, LPC, LCSW, CDAC and LPN.
Extras
During detox if clients are feeling up to it they can work out in the campus recreational room, get massages, attend yoga classes and get a haircut. There are also a number of social activities like Bingo and movie nights, aromatherapy, music therapy and stretching.
