New Creation Treatment Review
New Creation Treatment is a Christian based, dual diagnosis program based out of Southern California. It offers detox, residential and outpatient treatment for women. Programing integrates the 12 steps along with a variety of evidence-based protocols. Clients can expect individualized care and around the clock support.
Accommodations and Food
There are three inpatient recovery homes through New Creation: Encanto, McCarty and Prado. All of these homes are in private, serene neighborhoods outside of Los Angeles. The residences boast a great deal of privacy and luxury amenities. The properties have four bedrooms that are shared between two clients, with some en suite bathrooms and others that are either in the hall or are shared between two rooms. The facilities are modernly decorated and include new appliances, a large dining and living rooms with TV and cable, walk in closets, fireplaces, pool and hot tubs. There is also ample backyard space and panoramic views. Clients are able to vape or smoke in designated places in the facility.
The meals are all prepared and served on site by a staff member. They are all healthy and well balanced using fresh and local ingredients. Meals are served family style, and personalized diet plans can be facilitated.
Treatment and Staff
The detox all takes place within the residential homes and is overseen by a medical professional who is there 24 hours a day to ensure the client’s safety. Depending on what the client is detoxing from, it’s common that this process will take up to a week. At the beginning of treatment clients undergo an assessment that includes a physical and mental workup and a personalized program plan.
Treatment is comprised of group and individual therapy, Neuro and Biofeedback, outdoor therapy and Bible study. There are also psychoeducational groups that focus on relapse prevention, managing stress and developing coping skills. In addition, a number of trauma-informed care protocols are implemented within all stages of treatment. Approaches like CBT, DBT, EMDR, Brief Strategic Family Therapy (BSFT) and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) are commonly utilized. Medication management and psychiatric consultations are available. Addiction group topics include empowerment, self esteem and grief/loss.
The treatment team includes CADCs, LPCs, medical staff, nutritionists, dietitians and fitness experts.
Extras
Clients participate in yoga along with some expressive therapies, like music and art. Outdoor activities can include hiking, backpacking, camping, canoeing and white water rafting. In addition, there are family therapy options and life coaching incorporated into treatment.
