The Basics
New Beginnings Treatment Center in Corvallis, Oregon is an outpatient and Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) that treats substance abuse in men and women over the age of 18. The program also works with clients in the criminal justice program.
The county seat of Benton, Corvallis is about an hour and a half south of Portland and is also home to Oregon State University. The program at New Beginnings is one of five outpatient facilities in coalition with Benton County Health Centers. All programs are on a sliding scale fee according to income.
Treatment and Staff
The first step in treatment at New Beginnings is meeting with a counselor on a “walk-in” basis, Monday-Friday from 12:30-2 pm. If a client needs to detox or has other specialized needs, then they are referred to an outside facility. Clients who are considered a good fit for New Beginnings programming are given an individualized treatment plan and enrolled in either the outpatient or PHP track.
All treatment takes place during day hours and is carefully monitored for maximum efficiency. The treatment includes individual and group therapy. PHP clients have a more regimented schedules and a more intensive program, tailored to their individual needs.
The staff consists of CBT trained CDACs as well as physicians and psychiatrists.
Extras
A relapse prevention program is available and counselors meet with clients to plan the best prevention route for long-term recovery. The relapse prevention program has no set time limit, but is a resource clients can use for as long as necessary. 12-step meetings are also recommended as a means to maintain long-term recovery.
