The Basics
New Age Services Corporation is a non-profit organization based in Chicago, Illinois. Originally founded in 1984 as the Substance Abuse and Alcoholism Treatment Center, NASC has evolved to offer a wide range of community services available to individuals and families. All services are outpatient-based and include HIV/AIDS assistance, Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), screenings and interventions. All services are designed to help adult clients and their support networks to work towards lasting recovery.
Treatment and Staff
The treatment approach at NASC is client-centered and utilizes evidence-based practices. Once a client is enrolled in treatment, they meet with the intake staff to develop an individualized treatment plan based on their unique recovery needs. Depending on the client, MAT (using Suboxone) may be recommended. Once stabilized after detox, clients begin participating in therapeutic activities.
Group therapy and individual therapy are the primary methods of treatment for clients in the adult outpatient program. Groups are available both during the day and evenings to accommodate work schedules and family commitments. The facility is open six days a week, Monday through Saturday.
Twelve step meetings may be suggested to support and enhance each client’s recovery. NASC also offers dual diagnosis support and screenings for mental health diagnoses and medication management needs. Counselors also offer assistance to help clients with their medical, vocational and legal needs so they may heal on every level.
All therapeutic activities are facilitated by CADCs. In-depth assessments and medication management are overseen by the staff Psychiatrists who are also addiction medicine specialists. The treatment staff also ensure clients have their medical needs met with HIV/AIDS services, Hepatitis vaccinations, TB testing and general health education. Special services for domestic violence and DUI risks are also available.
Extras
While NASC offers dynamic services to help clients with mental, physical and overall well-being, the facility gives particular care to underprivileged members in the community. Since the facility is funded by donations and other sources, they are able to offer complete services for underserved communities. While clients are in process of recovery, their families are encouraged to stay involved through family therapy. Parenting classes and other forms of education are also available.

New Age Services Corporation offers outpatient substance abuse treatment and MAT for adults. In addition to mental health, NASC provides vocational support, physical health services and supplemental support services that include domestic violence support and parenting classes. All services are available with sliding scale fees allowing those with limited financial resources to get the treatment they deserve.
