Based out of Los Angeles, California, Nautilus Recovery Centers is a sober living organization that runs homes for men and women in early recovery from addiction. Accommodations and Amenities
The West LA house is an intimate environment in an upscale neighborhood. There is space for only four residents in shared rooms. Each bedroom comes with two queen-sized fit snugly, dressers, basic decorations and closet space. The house also includes two shared bathrooms, common living areas with cable TV and Internet, an office area, a grassy yard and a spacious kitchen and dining room. While the organization does provide fresh, healthy food at each house, clients are expected to prepare their own meals—still, the staff members do provide some nutritional guidance and cooking classes as well.
Rules and Regulations
Unlike many sober living homes, Nautilus Recovery Centers is very hands-on and holistic in its approach. Like any supervised sober environment, all residents are expected to obey basic house behavioral contracts, remain sober, attend self-help meetings, submit to regular and random drug testing and remain in good standing with the staff and other residents.
In addition, all clients must also participate a wellness curriculum which includes rigorous group fitness routines every day which include yoga and weight-lifting. Mindfulness training and meditation is also a cornerstone of the program as a supplement to 12-step participation. Like other homes, residents are expected to remain active throughout the day by working, volunteering or going to school.

Other services include referrals to nearby sober coaches and outpatient services as necessary, as well as basic case management. LGBTQ clients are also welcome and the staff also plans regular group outings for the house. Finally, the home is located near several Metro stops and bus lines as well.
