Nautilus Recovery Centers Hollywood Hills

The Basics

Operating out of Los Angeles, California, Nautilus Recovery Centers is a sober living company that runs multiple homes throughout the city for men and women in recovery from addiction and related behavioral health issues. The organization was founded by Ryan Naumann and Jason Shoemaker, a personal trainer and a clinical psychologist, respectively. Among Nautilus Recovery Centers’ homes is a co-ed house in the Hollywood Hills.

Accommodations and Amenities

The Hollywood Hills house can host a total of seven residents in shared and gender-separate bedrooms. Each room comes with bunked twin beds, dressers, modern decor and walk-in closets. The rest of the home is smartly decorated with hardwood floors throughout and features shared bathrooms, living areas with sofas and cable TV, an office with Internet and a spacious kitchen and dining room area. While the staff members provide all the groceries, clients are responsible for cooking their own meals.

Rules and Regulations

Nautilus Recovery Centers are more hands-on with clients than many sober living homes but follow many of the same rules and traditions. Like any other sober living, all residents are required to obey house behavioral contracts, remain sober, submit to regular and random drug testing and remain in good standing with the others in the home. There’s also the requirement that all clients stay busy by either working, volunteering, attending outpatient care or going to school.

Additionally, all residents also go through an all-encompassing health and wellness program which includes rigorous daily fitness groups, yoga, weightlifting, mindfulness training, meditation and 12-step participation. Other services include nutritional counseling, meal planning and flexible case management.

Other bonuses of the home include an on-site jacuzzi which clients are free to use. The house managers also plan sober outings from time to time for other residents. The program is also sensitive to the needs of LGBTQ clients. Finally, the home is also conveniently located near many restaurants, public transit and potential job opportunities. Lengths of stay are flexible as well.

In Summary

Overall, Nautilus Recovery Centers in the Hollywood Hills is a well-rounded and balanced sober living environment open to both men and women. All clients are required to work a 12-step program, attend wellness groups and remain busy throughout the day. Although the program may be more intensive than some residents are looking for, Nautilus Recovery Centers Hollywood Hills remains a great resource for those who want the full wellness package.
