The Basics
Muse Treatment in Los Angeles, California, offers Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) and standard outpatient treatment with a sober living option as a step down from the luxury residential treatment. Treatment and Staff
Outpatient treatment takes place at Muse’s clinical facility in Westwood. The programs are open to both those transitioning from Muse residential or another treatment facility. Treatment begins with an in-depth assessment followed up by placement in the most effective program track. Generally clients are coming to the facility after a residential program and are placed in IOP. The IOP runs three days or evenings a week for about six weeks, but the exact duration of care depends on the person. Once clients complete their goals in the IOP, they can step down to the standard outpatient program, which is individualized in terms of frequency and length of the program.
These program options can be customized to accommodate the client’s work or school schedule, and include one individual session per week and several process group sessions. Treatment focuses on developing coping skills and tools for living clean and sober. There are a variety of therapy options offered including CBT, DBT and 12-step philosophies. Muse’s unique neural rehabilitation program offers unique computerized cognitive training, biofeedback and neurofeedback. Residents are required to attend several area NA/AA meetings per week.
The Muse outpatient treatment team includes LCSWs, MFTs, a consulting psychiatrist and other Master’s-level therapists.

Outpatient clients can continue to enjoy the same perks as those in the residential program. These include a fitness center membership and fun sober outings like movies, restaurants, theme parks, local parks and other recovery fellowship activities.
