The Basics
Since 2009, MRB Counseling Services has been providing bilingual (English-Spanish) outpatient substance abuse counseling services in the suburbs of Baltimore. There are currently three facilities located in the cities of Frederick, Gaithersburg and Hyattsville in Maryland.
Treatment and Staff
At MRB Counseling Services, the first step for potential clients is to undergo an evaluation by a counselor to determine the appropriate level of care—dual diagnosis support is provided. The evaluation costs $120. The substance abuse program typically lasts 26 weeks and includes a weekly one-hour group session and individual therapy scheduled according to the client’s needs. Since each client has an individualized treatment plan, schedules vary and may also include supplementary group therapy sessions. All group sessions are bilingual except for an English-only session on Saturdays.
MRB Counseling Services uses traditional talk therapy during counseling and group topics include relapse prevention, substance abuse education and anger management. They encourage clients to attend 12-step and other outside support meetings. Clients pay as they go. A group session lasts for an hour and costs $45, while individual therapy lasts for 45 minutes and costs $60.
MRB Counseling Services has at least two licensed counselors at each facility.
Extras
At MRB Counseling Services, clients convicted of DUI are offered alcohol and drug evaluations, and a 12-hour DUI education class. Clients may also opt for an in-person or online Driver Improvement Program that costs from $25 to $55. All programs are approved by the State of Maryland’s Motor Vehicle Administration.
Family, marriage and couples counseling sessions are provided for an additional fee of $60 per hour.
