Moonlight Mountain Recovery Review
Moonlight Mountain Recovery is a residential treatment program in Pocatello, Idaho. Treatment is based on 12-step principles but also utilizes evidence-based protocols. Throughout the 90 day program, clients can expect individualized care through group and individual therapy, experiential activities, and holistic experiences, such as equine therapy. Accommodations and Food
The residential facility is a large, two story single family home located in a quiet and private neighborhood. The five bed, four bathroom house offers both private and semi private accommodation. Residents enjoy a number of amenities, like a small private movie room, a living room with stone fireplace, and an on-site workout room. The house is situated on a large plot of land that boasts beautiful views of the lush green landscape.
The facility hosts a big backyard and a covered patio and seating area. The washer and dryer are available for use as well.
Clients eat breakfast, lunch and dinner in the dining room. The balanced, delicious meals are designed to replace lost nutrients.
Treatment and Staff
At the introductory assessment clients discuss their concerns and what goals they would like to achieve during treatment. The program is designed to last 90 days, though some clients may choose to not remain in treatment for that length of time. From this assessment a customized treatment plan is introduced, and as clients move through their treatment, the plan is adjusted accordingly.
There are several group therapy sessions daily, and individual therapy sessions are scheduled as often as necessary. The groups are capped at eight clients with a three-to-one client-to-staff ratio.
CBT approaches are used during therapy . There are also on-site AA meetings. While this program is primarily based on the 12 steps, each client’s personal beliefs are respected when it comes to cultural and spiritual preferences.
Most of the Moonlight Mountain Recovery staff are in recovery themselves. The treatment team is comprised of experienced therapists and residential support staff.
Extras
Once a week clients leave the facility for fun group activities. Equine therapy occurs weekly and clients have one on one sessions with the horses and equine therapist. Additional activities include yoga, meditation and scheduled gym time.
Aftercare planning is a key element to each client’s treatment plan. This plan includes ensuring a safe housing situation and helping to set out outpatient care.
