The Basics
Middle Flint Behavioral Healthcare is a behavioral, mental health and developmental disabilities treatment and care facility in Americus, Georgia. With a network of sites that provide programs under the MFBH umbrella, clients have access to a range of services including an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) that allows clients to have structured treatment while still maintaining their regular life, work and school schedules.
Treatment and Staff
Treatment is individualized to meet each client’s unique needs. An initial evaluation and assessment helps counselors to determine the level of structure needed and from this a treatment plan is devised that dictates the types of sessions and the frequency of weekly sessions. Clients participate in both individual and group therapy, family therapy, education services and community support services. The length of treatment varies on the needs of the client as well as their progress through the program. Treatment for co-occurring disorders is also made available if deemed necessary by client and counselor. The 12-steps are not integrated into treatment, but counselors refer clients to a local chapter upon request. Relapse prevention training and an aftercare are offered to clients who successfully complete the program.
The staff at MFBH consists of LSWs, CADCs, LPCs and psychologists.
Extras
In addition to the comprehensive substance abuse treatment program, MFBH also offers a variety of other mental and behavioral health services. Family enrichment services, intervention and developmental disabilities services are all available to clients and the community at large.
