The Basics
Mid Valley Outpatient is a substance abuse treatment and counseling program affiliated with Social Model Recovery Systems, a behavioral health agency that provides services from more than 10 locations in the Los Angeles area. MVO is located in El Monte, California, an industrial city located just 25 minutes from downtown Los Angeles. The substance abuse treatment program offered by MVO is exclusively outpatient.
Treatment and Staff
Treatment begins with an initial assessment and evaluation to develop an individualized treatment plan detailing the frequency and type of therapy best suited for each individual’s case. Therapies is DBT-based and includes individual and group therapy, family therapy and relapse prevention. The 12 steps are also implemented in treatment with meetings held on-site. Daily attendance is required for all clients.
Education on the nature of addiction and chemical dependency is included in every treatment plan as MVO philosophy places heavy emphasis on education as fundamental in prevention and recovery. Case management is a part of the program and the counselors adjust treatment plans depending on progress or effectiveness of treatment. MVO is a generalized program and all in need of treatment and recovery services are welcome.
The staff at MVO consists of LPCs, LCSWs, and LADCs.
Extras
In addition to the substance abuse treatment program, MVO also offers services for a variety of other behavioral and mental health issues. Court-approved parenting classes, family unity and education groups, HIV/AIDS/STI awareness presentations and social and recreational activities are all available to clients and the community.

MVO’s outpatient services incorporate an individualized treatment program with a commitment to the 12-steps and evidence-based methods. Services also cater specifically the HIV/AIDS community. With a strong emphasis on addiction education and the various aspects of addiction and substance abuse, MVO aims to provide a well-rounded approach to recovery and sobriety.
