The Basics
Mid-Ohio Psychological Services is a mental and behavioral health treatment facility that provides a variety of services for five counties across Ohio. Serving Fairfield, Franklin, Licking, Delaware and Ross Counties, clients have the freedom to choose the location and services that best suits their recovery needs. The substance abuse treatment program offered by MOPS is a multi-level basic outpatient program.
Treatment and Staff
The substance abuse treatment program is intended for clients in need of low-intensity treatment. Those in need of detox services, residential care or more a intensive program are referred to outside programs.
Treatment at MOPS consists of several levels that clients progress through as they recover. Treatment consists of individual and group therapy and medication/somatic services. Individual therapy is scheduled independently between the client and their counselor. Group sessions are educational and are scheduled in the mornings and evenings for clients to attend depending on their availability and at the recommendation of their counselor.
In order to move from one level of treatment to the next, clients must show specific motivational-related behaviors in their therapy sessions. The success of this program is based on the client’s willingness to change and their commitment to their recovery. The 12-steps are not a part of treatment, but clients can be referred to local chapters upon request.
The staff at MOPS consists of psychologists, LPCs, Qualified Mental Health Specialists (QMHSs) and LISWs.
Extras
In addition to the comprehensive substance abuse treatment program, MOPS also offers treatment for a variety of other behavioral and mental health issues as well as community-oriented services. General mental health counseling, home-based therapy, case management, forensic services, support programs, an adult sex offender program, anger management, a behavior management program and sexual abuse programs are all available.

The substance abuse treatment program offered by MOPS is well suited for those seeking a flexible but structured outpatient program that relies upon the client’s desire and willingness to grow and change. The client progress through various levels of treatment and partakes in evidence-based practices to achieve sobriety.
