Mid-Michigan Recovery Services Review
Mid-Michigan Recovery Services of Lansing, Michigan is a CARF accredited addiction treatment facility that offers both residential and outpatient services. Treatment is based in the 12-step philosophy and offers education and counseling using evidence-based and holistic approaches. The majority of the staff at Mid-Michigan Recovery Services have been through some sort of addiction program themselves and are able to provide the support that comes from first hand experience.
Accommodations and Food
The residential facilities are based out of homes that can accommodate up to 14 clients in both the men’s and women’s housing units. The modest, one story homes are comfortable and provide dorm style sleeping arrangements and shared bathrooms. Common areas include the living room, kitchen and dining rooms. Food is provided during treatment, and clients take turns preparing meals for each other.
Treatment and Staff
The residential programs have staff in attendance 24 hours a day, and are able to help the clients with any issues they may have. Upon admission the clients begin to build their relationships within the 12-step communities by finding a sponsor. Every client has an individualized treatment plan that is put together during the initial stages of entering into the program, and have several daily group sessions, at least two individual sessions per week, and assistance when it comes to vocational training or continuing education. It is worth mentioning that detox cannot be facilitated through Mid-Michigan Recovery Services.
Treatment addresses relapse prevention, anger management, stress education, identifying and staying away from triggers and learning coping and life skills. There are parenting classes offered, along with nutritional counseling and education. Physical exercise is also factored into each client’s treatment plan.
Therapeutic methods applied during treatment includes CBT, DBT and Motivational Interviewing (MI) to name a few. There are also services to provide dual diagnosis support and medication management through an outside agency.
There is a large staff associated with Mid-Michigan Recovery. It includes LCSWs, LPCs, CADCs and resident techs. There are also a number of recovery coaches that are not affiliated with AA or NA that offer guidance throughout treatment.
Extras
Clients in the residential program go on frequent sober outings in a group. There are also a number of community outreach events that are sponsored by this facility that the clients participate in, such as programs to help the homeless population in Lansing.

The residential program at Mid-Michigan Recovery Serviecs offers comfortable accommodations and comprehensive treatment. The focus of the program is to learn how to live in recovery, not be at a spa for a month. This is a program based on accountability, kindness and learning to live as a sober individual and enjoy all the things that life has to offer.
