The Basics
Meyers Counseling Services is an outpatient treatment center in Idaho Falls, Idaho, that prides itself on catering to a wide range of demographics. Their community-minded facility serves the LGBT community, individuals with HIV/AIDS, hearing-impaired individuals and criminal justice clients.
Treatment and Staff
The treatment program at MCS is exclusively outpatient and provides CBT oriented individual counseling, group counseling, family counseling, relapse prevention and help for those with co-occurring disorders. Clients are encouraged—but not required—to attend 12-step meetings.
MCS expects clients to complete one individual therapy session per week and at least two weekly group sessions. Clients may choose from various groups including an LGBT group, a group for hearing-impaired individuals, a men’s group or an HIV/AIDS group. There is also a special group for those who have been convicted of DUI or DWI charges. A family group is held once a week.
The duration of the program is dependent upon how well and quickly the client progresses. Upon successful completion of the outpatient program, clients have access to MCS’ aftercare program, which offers a weekly group therapy session.
The staff at MCS includes CSWs, CASACs and MFTs.
Extras
For clients requiring treatment beyond the outpatient program, MCS provides referral services to detox services and inpatient care facilities.
