Mesa Springs is a newly-constructed behavioral health hospital located in Fort Worth, Texas that provides both inpatient and outpatient treatment for substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. Mesa Springs isn’t the typical psychiatric hospital; it offers holistic, personal wellness programming in addition to traditional therapy. Mesa Springs also uses the latest advancements in addiction recovery curriculum such as the web-based COGNIT and Good Days Ahead programs and the Hazelden Co-Occurring Disorders Program.
Accommodations and Food
The modern Mesa Springs facility has 72 beds and treats both substance abuse and psychiatric residents. Clients have roommates in spacious rooms with twin beds and en suite bathrooms. There are comfortable common areas where residents can watch TV, read and play games during down time.
Clients eat in the bright, cheerful facility cafeteria, which serves healthy meals from a menu designed by a nutritionist. Mesa Springs staff accommodates food allergies and preferences within reason.
Treatment and Staff
Mesa Springs has a detox unit, where the average stay is five to seven days. After detox, clients usually remain in inpatient treatment for two to four weeks. Therapy at Mesa Springs uses CBT, DBT and the 12-step framework, as well as modern web-based and holistic methods to compliment traditional therapies. The treatment team encourages participation in 12-step meetings and brings facilitated meetings to the unit several times each week. Residents attend group therapy several times each day and have individual therapy as needed. Clients receive comprehensive dual diagnosis support and, when needed, meet with a psychiatrist or psychiatric nurse practitioner for medication management.
Holistic therapies include nutrition counseling, work out activities, yoga, art and pet therapy.
Families have the opportunity to participate in education and support groups to increase their understanding of addiction and mental illness. A free monthly aftercare support group is offered for all clients who complete their initial treatment program.
Mesa Springs has an inpatient unit that provides structured, medically-supervised treatment with extensive dual diagnosis support. Its new, modern facility and variety of web-based and holistic treatments make it an excellent choice for those struggling with psychiatric conditions and substance abuse.
