Meridians Recovery Residential Review
Based out of Sterling, Virginia, Meridians Recovery is a small organization that provides support to men in recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. The facility offers several different programs with various focuses under the same roof. While the majority of its services are sober living programs, Meridians Recovery also provides residential treatment for those in the early stages of recovery.
Accommodations and Food
The residential home has seven beds available in both single and shared bedrooms, equipped with twin beds, dressers and closet space. Common areas include a living room with cable TV, a dining room, on-site laundry and a full kitchen. While the staff are available to help residents learn how to cook, all are expected to prepare their own meals.
Treatment and Staff
After an initial assessment, clients begin long-term, individualized treatment plans. Each day begins at 7:30 am with time for breakfast and meditation before a rotating block of activities; including weight lifting and community service before lunch. Residents then attend 12-step or SMART Recovery meetings before continuing on to psychoeducational lectures and recovery workshops. While the program is non-clinical, clients do attend regular individual and group therapy that uses evidence-based practices, like CBT, and various case management services.
The staff at Meridians Recovery consists of state-certified addiction counselors.

Meridians Recovery is a somewhat unique program in that clients who finish the residential program can transition seamlessly into one of the sober living tracks. Clients are welcome to stay for as long as two years. Once they’ve finished, staff members can also provide referrals for aftercare.
